Are YOU Ready to go Mobile?
With the release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 (and 2015 on the horizon), many organizations are asking this very question.
So as an organization, what will it take to access your CRM on a mobile device? From a technical standpoint, the following should be considered.
One requirement for a mobile deployment is having Active Directory Federation Server (ADFS) and Internet Facing Deployment (IFD). If this is already installed, you are one step closer to going mobile!
There are two ways to access your organizations data from a mobile device for free. The Microsoft Dynamics CRM app, or the web browser. If you want to utilize the app, you will want to ask yourself, what mobile devices do we currently use, or do we intend on using? It is recommended that all staff utilize the same type of mobile device. This is most important for training and troubleshooting purposes as apps between Apple and Android are not equivalent.
There are some items which may need to be re-configured for mobile compatibility such as java script and entity design. This will depend on your current CRM version and structure. For example, IFrames are not compatible with mobile devices and may need to be replaced with an alternative.
As there are some questions to be pondered with moving towards mobile, it’s the next step for many organizations and we can help! Call OTT for any questions.
